Corporate Yoga, Meditation and Angelic Breath Work with Sound Healing

This global pandemic has taught us how imperative it is to take care of ourselves, each other, prioritise, work together and keep moving forward. I am pleased to offer the benefits of yoga, meditation, mindfulness and breathwork to the hospital and healthcare system. The COVID pandemic has undeniably created unique change, exerted new pressures and demands on staff, workplace cohesion, corporate culture, profitability, productivity and staff health & wellbeing.

I began my career as a medical representative in 1999 and to manage the role and other life demands I began practicing Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Breath Work in 2014. As a medical representative I am comfortable, familiar, and fluent with working in healthcare settings and consider the benefits of these practices timely and essential for all hospital and health care staff members. When the staff are regulated and balanced mentally and physically a real, tangible difference will be cultivated in the workplace.

HOW DO CORPORATE SESSIONS WORK?

The in-person or virtual group classes incorporate posture, breath, mantra, meditation, and sound healing allowing development of the slower, calmer meditative mind and the experience of improved health and relaxation. These times are fast paced and the more agile and “fit” we are mentally, emotionally the more adept we are at being flexible, open, creative and capable of going with the flow and remaining focused on the common, shared goal of delivering safe, quality healthcare in an arena that is intense pressures.

SEVERAL BENEFITS OF YOGA, MEDITATION AND MINDFULNESS IN THE HOSPITAL AND HEALTHCARE DELIVERY SETTING INCLUDE:

HIGHER STAFF MORALE

Reducing stress in the workplace means staff are happier overall, with the added benefit that staff feel better about themselves when they have experienced breath, movement and relaxation.

BETTER INTER-STAFF RELATIONS

When people are stressed at work, tempers flare and relationships can sour, leading to uncooperative, less cohesive teams leading to low productivity. It’s a healthy team building, alliance affirming experience for the staff.

DECREASED ILLNESS AND ABSENTEEISM

Workplace stress causes a range of physical, mental and emotional illnesses, including depression and there is possibly no other industry more currently stress impacted by the pandemic than the healthcare delivery system. Stress suppresses the immune system so that it takes longer to recover from non-stress-related illnesses. This results in loss of work hours.

IMPROVED DELIVERY OF HEALTHCARE SERVICES

When staff are less stressed they are more pleasant to co-workers and patients, calmer and more communicative.

REDUCED WORKER’S COMPENSATION CLAIMS

Stress-related WorkCover claims account for almost 30% of all WorkCover claims and are about twice as expensive as other claims. It may also reduce claims for muscular and joint problems which can be prevented and alleviated with workplace yoga, mindfulness and relaxation.

HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY

All of the factors mentioned above, plus the fact that people think less clearly when they’re over-stressed, means that putting in place effective stress management strategies such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness and breath work sessions at work will increase productivity and the delivery of quality, safe healthcare in these hectic, pressured times.

BENEFITS OF ANGELIC BREATH WORK INCLUDE:

  • CLEARER, SHARPER MIND

  • REDUCED STRESS AND ANXIETY

  • MORE RELAXED STATE

  • CALIBRATION OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

The breath work I teach is a way to replace the current rhythm of breath with conscious rhythms so we can obtain more control over our mind and ultimately our life. The techniques shared can continue to be practiced at home.
